About CGPACalculation.net – India's Most Trusted Free CGPA Platform
CGPACalculation.net was built with one simple idea: every student deserves fast, accurate, and completely free access to grade calculation tools — no sign-up, no payment, no confusing formulas. Since 2018, we've grown from a single CGPA calculator into a platform of 100+ free tools used by 20 million students across India, Pakistan, Australia, the UK, the US, and 140+ more countries. This is our story.
"Every student — whether studying in Delhi, Karachi, Sydney, or London — deserves instant, accurate, and completely free access to their grade calculations. No paywalls. No sign-ups. No wrong formulas. Just answers."
Our Story – How CGPACalculation.net Was Born
Every great platform starts with a frustration. Ours started with a student staring at a mark sheet and a confusing formula sheet, trying to figure out if they had enough CGPA to apply for a job.
📖 The Problem We Solved
In 2018, a final-year engineering student at a VTU-affiliated college in Karnataka was preparing to apply for campus placements. Her mark sheet showed a CGPA of 8.4 — but the company's application form asked for percentage of marks. She knew there was an official formula (CGPA × 10 for VTU) but wasn't sure if it was the same as the UGC formula (×9.5) or something else entirely. She spent 45 minutes trying to find a reliable answer online, cycling through confusing forums, incorrect blog posts, and apps that asked for login before showing results.
That 45-minute search should have been a 15-second calculation. That's the problem CGPACalculation.net was built to fix.
We started with a single page — a free CGPA to percentage converter with the correct formulas for 5 major Indian universities. Within the first month, 8,000 students had used it. Within six months, we had added 20 calculators covering every major Indian university grading system. Today, with 100+ free tools and 20 million users in 140+ countries, the core mission hasn't changed: give every student the right answer, instantly, for free.

Our Mission – What Drives Everything We Build
Three core principles guide every calculator, guide, and page on CGPACalculation.net — and have since day one.
Accuracy Above All
Every formula on our platform is sourced from official university ordinances, UGC circulars, and board regulations. When a student reports a discrepancy, we verify against the source document and update within 48 hours. Grading affects students' lives — we treat accuracy as a non-negotiable obligation, not a goal.
Free Forever — No Exceptions
Every calculator, guide, and conversion tool on CGPACalculation.net is completely free. We will never put any academic calculation tool behind a paywall, a sign-up wall, or a subscription. Grade information is a basic academic right. We're funded through non-intrusive advertising — never through student fees.
Instant & Frictionless
No account creation. No email verification. No "start your free trial." A student who needs their CGPA right now — before a job application deadline, before submitting a scholarship form, before a counselling session — gets it in under 10 seconds. Every design decision prioritises speed and simplicity.
Every Student, Every System
Whether you're at CBSE in Delhi, VTU in Bangalore, NUST in Islamabad, a Russell Group university in London, or a community college in California — your grading system should be supported here. We actively expand to new universities and countries based on student requests.
Privacy by Design
We don't store your grades, your name, or your email when you use our calculators. All calculations happen in your browser. Your academic information is private — and it stays that way. We collect only standard anonymised analytics (page views, country, device type) to improve the platform.
Responsive & Student-First
When a student writes to us with a formula question, a bug report, or a university request — a real person reads it and responds within 24 hours. We've added dozens of university calculators specifically because individual students took the time to write to us and explain what they needed.

Our Values – How We Work
📐 Source-First Accuracy
We only publish a formula after tracing it to its official source — a university ordinance, a UGC circular, or an official board document. If we can't find an authoritative source, we label it clearly as an approximation.
🔄 Continuous Updates
Grading regulations change. Every September, we systematically review all calculators for the new academic year. Mid-year updates happen whenever a student or educator flags a change. Our pages are dated so you always know when they were last verified.
💬 Student-Driven Development
More than half of our calculators exist because a student emailed us and said "I need a calculator for X university and I can't find one anywhere." We build what students actually need, not what we think they might want.
🚫 No Dark Patterns
We don't use fake "your results are ready — just sign up!" screens, countdown timers, or any manipulation to drive sign-ups or app downloads. The result appears immediately, every time. That's it.
📢 Transparent Advertising
We run display ads from reputable ad networks to fund the platform. Ads are clearly labelled and never intrusive enough to block calculator use. We don't accept ads for products that conflict with student interests.
🤝 Open to Collaboration
Educational institutions, ed-tech companies, and content creators with aligned values are welcome to reach out about partnerships. We're selective — we only collaborate in ways that genuinely benefit our student audience.
📐 Our Accuracy Commitment – How We Ensure Correct Formulas
Grade calculation directly affects students' eligibility for jobs, scholarships, visa applications, and postgraduate admissions. An incorrect formula on our platform could have real consequences for real students. We take this seriously through the following process:
- Primary source verification: Every university formula is traced to an official document — the university's examination ordinance, UGC circular, or board notification — before publishing
- Manual test cases: Each new calculator is verified against 10+ manually calculated examples before going live
- Student verification: We encourage students to cross-check our results against their official university portal — and contact us if they find a discrepancy
- 48-hour correction policy: Any verified formula error is corrected within 48 hours of being reported with an authoritative source
- Annual review: All calculators are reviewed each September for the new academic year; updated when universities change their grading schemes
- Clear disclaimers: Every page states that our calculators are for planning and estimation — official results should always be verified on the student's university portal
- Transparent sourcing: Where possible, we cite the official regulation or circular that underpins each formula (e.g., "UGC Circular 2012, CBSE × 9.5 formula")
