How to Use the DU CGPA Calculator – Step by Step
Mode 1 – CGPA to Percentage: Enter Your DU CGPA
Select "CGPA → %" tab. Enter your DU CGPA from your official marksheet or from examresult.du.ac.in. Select your program and scheme (CBCS for 2015–2022 batches, NEP 2020 for 2022 onwards). Click calculate to get your percentage (CGPA × 9.5), 4-point GPA, UK classification, and eligibility check for jobs and higher studies.
Mode 2 – Grades to SGPA: Calculate from Paper Grades
Select "Grades → GPA" tab. Choose your semester and grading scheme. For each paper, enter the name, letter grade (O, A+, A, B+, B, C, D, or F), and credit hours. The calculator computes SGPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits). Use this mode to check SGPA before official results are published, or for planning.
Mode 3 – Cumulative CGPA: From All Semesters
Select "Cumulative" tab. Enter the SGPA and total credits for each completed semester from your DU results portal or marksheet. The calculator computes your cumulative CGPA as a credit-weighted average — exactly how DU computes it on your final transcript.
Use Your Results for Jobs, PG Admission, UPSC, and Study Abroad
For government job forms: use percentage (CGPA × 9.5). For JNU/AMU/BHU PG admissions: DU CGPA is accepted directly. For study abroad (US MS/MBA): enter 4-point GPA (CGPA ÷ 10 × 4). For UK Masters: use UK equivalent classification shown after calculation. Always submit your official DU marksheet as supporting document.
If you enrolled at DU in 2022 or later, you are on the NEP 2020 (4-year UG) scheme. If you enrolled between 2015 and 2021, you are on the CBCS (3-year UG) scheme. Both use the same 10-point grading scale and CGPA × 9.5 percentage formula. Under NEP, your CGPA includes Major, Minor, MDC (Multidisciplinary Elective), and skill-based courses. NEP students should register their ABC ID at abc.gov.in for the Academic Bank of Credits.
