Mumbai University's official percentage formula (CGPA × 10) is accepted by all Maharashtra government bodies, companies, and universities. Your CGPA result card from MU's IDOL/regular programs is the official document. For job applications requiring "percentage," use CGPA × 10. For study abroad (US MS/MBA), convert using 4-Point GPA = (CGPA ÷ 10) × 4. Check your MU result on the official portal at mu.ac.in.
The most complete free Mumbai University CGPA calculator — covering all MU programs, both CBCS and pre-CBCS schemes, three calculation modes, and real 2025–26 eligibility context.
BE/BTech (engineering), BSc, BCom, BA, BMS/BAF/BBI, MBA/MMS, MCA, MSc, and PhD — all using MU's official CBCS 10-point grading scale with program-specific context for eligibility and placements.
Mode 1: CGPA to percentage conversion (×10). Mode 2: Calculate semester GPA from subject grades and credits under CBCS. Mode 3: Compute cumulative CGPA from all semesters — the credit-weighted average method MU uses.
Uses MU's CBCS 10-point scale: O=10, A+=9, A=8, B+=7, B=6, C=5, D=4, F=0. Also supports the pre-CBCS 7-point scale for students under older schemes. Compliant with MU Ordinance 6086.
Checks your MU CGPA against 2025–26 thresholds for IT companies, government jobs, CAT/MBA, GATE, MS abroad, and Maharashtra state-level competitive exams — all in one place after calculation.
Converts your MU CGPA to the 4-point GPA equivalent for US MS/MBA applications and shows WES-equivalency context for Mumbai University graduates applying internationally.
Fully optimised for all iOS and Android devices — use it right after checking your MU results on IDOL portal or your college's result page. Works offline after first load.

Semester GPA (SGPA):
SGPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credit Hours per subject) ÷ Σ(Total Credits in semester)
Cumulative CGPA:
CGPA = Σ(SGPA × Credits of that semester) ÷ Σ(All credits across all semesters)
Or equivalently: CGPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credits for all courses ever taken) ÷ Σ(Total credits registered)
MU Official Percentage Conversion (Ordinance 6086):
Percentage Equivalent = CGPA × 10
Example: CGPA 8.4 → 8.4 × 10 = 84%. This formula is accepted by all employers, government bodies, and international universities for MU graduates.
MU CGPA to 4-Point GPA (for US MS/MBA):
4-Point GPA = (CGPA ÷ 10) × 4 | e.g., 8.4 CGPA = 3.36 GPA

Select "CGPA → %" tab. Enter your current CGPA as shown on your Mumbai University mark sheet or online result (available at mu.ac.in or your college's exam portal). Select your program (BE, BSc, BCom, BA, etc.) and scheme (CBCS 2016 onwards or pre-CBCS for older batches). Click calculate to instantly get your percentage (CGPA × 10), 4-point GPA for international applications, classification (First Class / Second Class / Distinction), and job/study eligibility status.
Select "Grades → GPA" tab. Choose your semester number and grading scheme (CBCS 10-point: O=10, A+=9, A=8… or old 7-point scale for pre-2016 students). For each subject, enter the name (optional), your grade (O, A+, A, B+, B, C, D, or F), and the credit hours assigned to that subject under CBCS. The calculator applies MU's formula: SGPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits). Ideal for checking your GPA before official results, or for planning "what-if" scenarios.
Select "Cumulative" tab. Enter your SGPA and total credits for each completed semester from your MU mark sheet or result portal. The calculator computes your cumulative CGPA as a credit-weighted average — exactly how MU computes it on your final transcript. This is the most accurate way to compute your overall academic performance and project what CGPA you'll graduate with.
After calculation, review the eligibility section to see which IT companies, government jobs, and graduate programs your CGPA qualifies you for. For CAT/MBA applications, government services (MPSC, SSC), or study abroad (US MS/MBA), use the percentage (CGPA × 10) and 4-Point GPA shown in the results. Always submit official MU mark sheets — this calculator is for quick reference and planning, not official documentation.
Mumbai University introduced CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) from 2016–17 onwards for most programs. If you enrolled in a BE/BTech, BSc, BCom, or other UG program before 2016, you may be on the pre-CBCS scheme which uses a 7-point grading scale (O=7, A=6, B=5, C=4, D=3, E=2, F=0) and a different percentage formula. Check your college's examination office or MU's ordinance for your specific batch. For pre-CBCS students, the percentage conversion was different — check with your department. This calculator defaults to CBCS (10-point scale) which applies to the vast majority of current MU students.
